Breastfeeding Support
Helping You Feel Confident in Feeding Your Baby
Committed to supporting your unique breastfeeding journey
Breastfeeding support has many benefits. Through 1-2-1 support, you’re far more likely to continue your breastfeeding journey.
There is nothing better than having another mum who has been through the journey 4 times herself and who understands exactly how tired and frustrated you feel, and who understands how you are judged whether you chose bottle feeding or breastfeeding.
I can empathise with you as well as support you, and I’ll make you laugh even in those difficult moments. The more relaxed we both feel, the better so I like to see clients in their own home over a cup of tea where I can observe them feeding as they would if I was not there. I will then offer feeding guidance, support and techniques.
What support your service can include
Breastfeeding support is accessed telling me what your concerns are and any specific things you’d like me to focus on. We then arrange a time over text message or WhatsApp - the session doesn’t have an exact time as some people only need 15 minutes and some people need much longer. The more relaxed we can both feel, the better. It’s best to visit you in your own home over a cup of tea where I can observe you feeding and I then offer tips and support which can cover the following:
♡ Infant Feeding Education
♡ Skin to Skin Contact after birth and beyond
♡ Positioning - getting it right from the start
♡ Attachment - how to effectively attach for successful feeds
♡ Knowing your babies cues
♡ How milk is removed from the breast
♡ How to know if your baby is getting enough milk
♡ How to optimise your milk supply
♡ Stages of feeding
♡ Composition of breast milk
Supporting you from pregnancy, during the first 72 hours, the first week through to returning to work from maternity leave.
Breastfeeding is full of long days, quiet moments, and a whole lot of learning as you and your baby figure things out together. It can be beautiful, challenging, empowering, and exhausting —sometimes all in the same hour!
